About Cory
Cory J. Mickels is a second-generation San Franciscan and associate practicing law in the areas of employment (employer side) and business litigation. Representing clients across industries, Cory’s creative thinking and strong litigation skills make him an excellent advocate for our clients.
Cory has previously litigated for San Francisco law firms doing insurance defense covering personal injury, products liability and tort law; he has clerked at Open Door Legal, an award-winning non-profit dedicated to creating universal access to legal representation, whose Board he now serves on; and he has worked in the Office of the San Francisco City Attorney where he focused on workers’ compensation and labor employment cases.
Cory is an avid volunteer giving back to his community. In addition to being on the Board of Open Door Legal, he is on the Board of SMART (Student Mentor & Resource Team), championing education equity for students on the journey to college, and serves on the audit committee of the Live Oak School focused on empowering K-8 students.
In addition to his educational and professional accomplishments, Cory is an avid Bay Area sports fan, a formidable chess opponent, and a keen film aficionado.
