California on Lockdown Again!

Just when things were returning to some semblance of normalcy, Governor Newsom yesterday, July 13, 2020, ordered a sweeping and statewide shut down of all indoor dining, movie theaters, family entertainment centers, and additional indoor operations. Per the order, specifically, all indoor restaurants, indoor wineries and tasting rooms, indoor movie theaters, indoor family entertainment centers (i.e. bowling alleys), zoos and indoor museums, indoor cardrooms, and brewpubs, breweries, bars and pubs (regardless of whether indoors or outdoors) must close – not matter the location of the business in California. Do not despair though, outdoor dining can continue.

Notably though, while the above has been issued statewide, additional orders have been issued on a per county basis, closing other business, such as gyms, hair salons, etc. For questions about Governor Newsom’s recent order and how that will affect your business and employees, please contact the Employer Lawyers at Chauvel & Glatt.
