New Jersey Governor Vetoes Driver Misclassification Bill

On September 9, 2013 New Jersey Governor Chris Christie rejected A1578/S1450, union-backed legislation classifying port and parcel delivery truck drivers in the state as employees instead of independent contractors. According to the New Jersey Motor Truck Association, the so-called “job-killing bill” would have led many trucking companies to leave the state.
